Minister of State Mr. Tony Killeen TD
Tony Killeen is a native of Co Clare, and a graduate of Mary Immaculate College, Limerick. He is a former teacher, and he was first elected in 1992.
Before commencing his current post as Minister of State at the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries & Food (with special responsibility for Fisheries and Forestry), Tony Killeen was appointed Minister of State at the Department of Communications, Energy, & Natural Resources, and the Department of Environment, Heritage & Local Government, in June 2007. He was previously Minister of State at the Department of Enterprise, Trade and Employment (Labour Affairs) since September 2004.
He was Chairman of the Joint Oireachtas Committee on Education and Science, from 2002 to 2004, and a former Chair of the Oireachtas Committee on Members' Interests in Dáil Éireann. Tony Killeen was a member of the British-Irish Parliamentary Body, and served as Chairman, and Vice-Chairman of Clare County Council, from 1985 to 1997. He was Chairman of Co Clare VEC, from 1991 to 1994, and he was a former National Chairman of the Fianna Fáil Councillors' Association.
