EU approved ABP plants

Plants handling or processing animal by-products must be approved by the competent authority in accordance with Regulation (EC) No 1069/2009.

The lists of approved ABP plants are in the format laid down by the European Commission.

Section I  Establishment or plants carrying out intermediate activities and plants storing animal by-products (Article 24 (1) (h) & (i) or Regulation (EC) No. 1069/2009) (xls 40Kb)   - Intermediate Plants, Hide Stores, Plants Supplying Pet Food, Knackeries and Wool Stores.
Section II Establishments or Plants for the Storage of Derived Products (Article 24(1)(j) of Regulation (EC) No 1069/2009 (xls 24Kb)   - Plants storing processed animal protein (PAP), rendered fat and fish oils for other than feeding or oleochemical purposes and some fertilisers.
Section III Incineration/Co-Incineration/Combustion Plants (Article 24(1)(b),(c) and (d) of Regulation (EC) No. 1069/2009) (xls 28Kb)   - Low capacity incinerators and tallow burners.
Section IV Processing Plants (Article 24(1)(a) of Regulation (EC) No. 1069/2009) (xls 25Kb)   - Rendering and Bio-diesel Plants.

Section X Registered users of animal by-products and derived products for specific purposes - Diagnostic, educational and research uses and meat feeder licences
