Minister announces introduction of Revised Standard Costings for On-Farm Investment Schemes

The Minister for Agriculture and Food, Mary Coughlan T.D., today announced that revised Standard Costings were being introduced immediately for the purposes of calculation of grant payments under the On-Farm Investment Schemes operated by her Department. In line with the commitments contained in the new Charter of Rights for Farmers 2005/2007, the Minister stated that the new costings would be applied to all letters of approval to commence work issued by her Department since 1 January 2006.

The Minister said she was pleased to introduce the revised costings for the purposes of the new Farm Waste Management Scheme introduced by her Department in March 2006 and which had already proved such a resounding success with over 6,500 applications having been received from farmers since its introduction. The Minister said that "confirmation of the introduction of these revised costings can only further encourage farmers to participate in the revised Scheme before the closing date for applications at the end of 2006."
