Browne welcomes Consultants Report on Forestry Tax Exemption Measures

Mr John Browne TD, Minister of State at the Department of Agriculture and Food, warmly welcomed the outcome of a recent consultancy study on behalf of the Department of Finance, which recommended that forestry should continue to be exempted from taxation. The study concluded that the tax relief scheme at present in place for forestry was cost-benefit positive.

The Minister acknowledged the importance of the forest tax relief measures which, in turn, recognises the multiple benefits that forestry contributes to the national economy.
