Minister Coughlan reminds famers of deadlines under the Farm Waste Management Scheme

The Minister for Agriculture and Food, Mary Coughlan TD, today reminded farmers and their agriculture consultants of the need to adhere to the deadlines applicable under the Farm Waste Management Scheme.

The end of March 2007 is the final date for the receipt by the Department of all drawings and other details outstanding from the grant applications already received. Where planning permission is required for the proposed works, written confirmation from the agricultural consultants must be received by 31st March that such planning permission has been applied for. A copy of all drawings being submitted with the planning permission application must be included with this confirmation.

Where any modifications have to be made to grant applications in order to take account of the soiled water issue, farmers have until end-June 2007 to notify the Department in writing of these modifications.

In all cases, work must not be commenced until written approval has been issued by the Department.

The Minister also reminded farmers that 31st December 2008 is the date by which all work under Scheme must be completed.
