Minister Coughlan Announces Second Tranche Of Grants Under Scheme Of Investment Aid For Demonstration On-Farm Waste Processing Facilities

The Minister for Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, Mary Coughlan T.D., today announced the award of the second tranche of grants under the above Scheme, provided for in the National Development Plan, to support the demonstration of new/emerging technologies to further assist the agriculture sector in meeting the requirements of the Nitrates Directive. Eight projects are to be supported. This is in addition to the award of grants for three projects announced earlier this year by the Minister. The maximum investment ceiling per project under the Scheme is €1 million with a 40% grant-rate.

The Minister stated that the above should prove of significant benefit to farmers in terms of meeting their requirements under the Nitrates Regulations.
