Minister Killeen Condemns Dunmore East Attack

The Minister of State, with Special Responsibility for Fisheries, Tony Killeen TD, today condemned the overnight attack on the Department's offices in Dunmore East Fishery Harbour.

Mr Killeen said that it was "unacceptable that State property should be attacked in this way, particularly when the offices were occupied at the time by Sea Fishery Protection Officers who are public servants performing their statutory duties".

The Minister said that he understood that the incident was the subject of a Garda investigation and said that he hoped that the perpetrators would be apprehended and brought to justice.
