Minister Smith Attends Launch Night of the Tullow Agricultural Show in The Tara Arms Hotel

Brendan Smith TD, Minister for Agriculture, Fisheries and Food officially launched the Tullow Agricultural show at a press night held in Tullow, Co. Carlow, which takes place this year on Sunday, 15 August.

Minister Smith said that the Tullow Agricultural show was the only show held in County Carlow and had become one of the leading livestock shows in the country and in this, its 63rd year, it continues to grow from strength to strength. The show will attract exhibitors from every county in Ireland to compete in the large number of classes on the day.  The show not only boasts some of Irelands finest livestock, but also has a wide selection of competitions for garden produce, home cooking, arts and crafts and attracts a high standard of entry from competitors, both young and old.

Minister Smith welcomed the generous local sponsorship provided by a host of loyal sponsors. "Tullow show has a huge range of competitions and events, offering something for both urban and rural dwellers, who can meet and enjoy a real family day out. The organisers have shown great initiative and enterprise this year in the quality of the programme", said the Minister.

In conclusion, Minister Smith took the opportunity to wishing the organising committee, the exhibitors, the sponsors, the many visitors, and everybody involved with the Tullow show an enjoyable day out.
