Minister Smith marks National Tree Day

Brendan Smith TD, Minister for Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, today marked National Tree Day with tree planting ceremonies at St. Patrick's National School, Shercock and Castle Lake, Bailieborough along with pupils from St. Felim's National School, Bailieborough.

The Minister congratulated the Tree Council of Ireland and Coillte on their commitment and support of the many events and activities organised for the National Tree Day and encouraged people to attend such events and avail of the opportunity to appreciate trees and their many benefits. The Minister thanked the staff and pupils at the schools for hosting the tree planting ceremonies and concluded by encouraging people to take part in the program of events.
