Minister Dara Calleary T.D

Dara Calleary TD is the Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine.  He was appointed in July 2020 following a short spell as the Government Chief Whip.

A native of Ballina, he was first elected to Dail Eireann at the 2007 General Election.

In April 2009, he was appointed Minister of State at the Department of Enterprise, Trade and Employment with responsibility for Labour Affairs.

In March 2010, he was appointed Minister of State at the Department of the Taoiseach and the Department of Finance with responsibility for Public Service Transformation.

Following his re-election to Dáil Éireann in February 2011 and 2016, he served as Fianna Fáil Spokesperson on Justice, Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation and, most recently, Public Expenditure and Reform.

In March 2018, he was appointed Deputy Leader of Fianna Fáil and Director of Policy Development.
