To continue trading with the UK (i.e. importing or exporting) in plants, animals, or products of plant or animal origin, the person responsible for the consignment must register with the Department.

If you trade with the UK in animals or animal products (such as meat, dairy products or fishery products), there are steps you can take now to ensure that any potential disruptions to your business are reduced.
After the UK leaves the EU, traders of certain plants (such as trees, flowers or vegetables) or plant products (such as fruit, foliage or timber) must be registered with the Department and must prepare accompanying documents to be inspected as required.
Trader notices, registration procedures and a reminder that if your products are transported using wood packaging or pallets, ensure that the wood is International Standard for Phytosanitary Measure No. 15 ISPM15 compliant.
As a first step, you should contact your vet two months before your travel to start making the necessary arrangements in good time.
